Colorful sale finds

Nyt kun alennusmyynnit ovat täydessä vauhdissa, voisin esitellä omat aika värikkäät alelöytöni. Stockmann aloitti alensa jo viikko ennen juhannusta ja yllätin itsenikin ostamalla sieltä nämä kengät...

Now that the sales are in full swing, I thought I'd show you my rather colorful sale finds. Stockmann department store started their sale a week before midsummer and I surprised myself there by buying these shoes...

Mokkasiinit! Kenkämakuni alkaa selvästi hieman avartua. Ennen tämän korkokenkätytön ainoa oikea koroton kenkävalinta oli balleriinat, nyt ostin kuitenkin mokkasiinit ja keväällä jopa tennarit (puolustuksekseni on sanottava, että tennarit ovat keltaista mokkaa!). Näissä mokkasiineissakin veti puoleensa kaunis vaaleanpunainen väri ja aitoa nahkaa olevat popot tuntuivat jalassa ihanan pehmoisilta. Näin ne jo kesäkuun alkupäivinä, mutta koska omaa kokoani oli vielä runsaasti jäljellä, päätin odottaa alennusmyyntejä ja se kannatti; hintaa ei jäänyt kuin 29,90€!

Moccasins! My taste in shoes is clearly starting to broaden. Ballerinas used to be the only right flat shoe choice for this high heel girl, but now I bought moccasins and in the spring I even got a pair of sneakers (in my defense, the sneakers were yellow suede!) It was the beautiful pink color that attracted me to these moccasins too and they felt incredibly soft on the foot. I already saw them in early June, but as they still had plenty of them in my size, I decided to wait for the sales and it paid off; I got them for just 29,90€!

Minua hiukan huvitti popojen pohjassa oleva "authentic moccasin"-merkintä. Ihan kuin olisi joku mokkasiinistandardi, jonka nämä täyttävät ja ovat siitä saaneet merkiksi tämän leiman...

I was a bit amused by the stamp on the sole saying "authentic moccasin". Like there'd be some moccasin standard that these fill and therefore get this stamp...

H&M:n nettikaupasta löysin Concious Collection-malliston pirteän kesätopin. Todellista väriä oli vaikea vangita kuviin, se on erittäin kirkas limenvihreä, turvaliiviksikin toppiparkaa on jo kutsuttu! Tämä tulikin hyvään saumaan sillä olin keväästä asti kaipaillut tällaista kirkasta piristysruisketta muuten värittömiin asuihin, ja huomasinpa limen sopivan yllättävän hyvin yhteen myös violetin kanssa.

This vibrant summer top is from H&M's Concious Collection. It was hard to capture the real color, it's a very bright lime green, the poor thing even got dubbed a security vest! I'm really pleased I found this as I'd been longing for something bright like this to spice up otherwise neutral outfits, and I also noticed that lime green goes suprisingly well with purple.

Pitkään olen blogin perustamista miettinyt ja jahkannut, mutta tässä tämä nyt vihdoin on, tervetuloa! Style In A Coconutshell tulee keskittymään tyyliini sekä muotiin ja pukeutumiseen yleisesti. Haluan myös jonkin verran käsitellä terveyttä ja hyvinvointia, blogin nimikin putkahti mieleeni eräänä aamuna lisätessäni smoothieen kookosöljyä. Mutta siirrytäänpä esittelyistä itse asiaan eli asuuni!

After a lot of pondering and procrastinating, my blog is finally here, welcome! Style In A Coconutshell will concentrate on my personal style as well as fashion in general. I also want to write a little bit about health and wellness, the name of the blog actually popped into my head one morning as I was adding coconut oil to my smoothie. But let's move on to my outfit now!

Viime aikoina minua on kovasti kiehtonut rentojen ja skarppien elementtien yhdistäminen. Tässä asussa esiintyvällä neulepaidalla on aika hauska tarina, se kuului nimittäin alunperin äidilleni. Ihastelin sitä hänen päällään vuosi sitten juhannuksena, illastaessa paidalle kuitenkin putosi jotain, joten se päätyi heti pesuun. Pesussa paita kutistui aika lailla ja minä sitten tyytyväisenä omin sen. Leveä se on vieläkin ja kutistumista tapahtui eniten pituussuunnassa, joten riippuen miten paidan asettelee, on joko selkä tai vatsa vilkkumisvaarassa. Itse olen päätynyt vilauttelemaan mieluummin hiukan alaselkää, silloin kaulaan mahtuu korukin.

Lately I've been inspired by the combination of relaxed and formal elements. The sweater in this outfit has a funny story as it originally belonged to my mother. I admired it on her last summer on midsummer's eve, something dropped on it during dinner, so into the washing machine it went. The sweater shrank quite a lot in the wash, so I was more than happy to adopt it. It's still wide and it shrank mostly lengthwise, so depending on how I position the sweater either my stomach or my back is in danger of showing. I prefer to flash a little lower back, in that case there's enough space in the front for a necklace.

Tämä on ollut loppukevään ja alkukesän luottoasuni päivinä, joina säästä ei ota oikein selvää. Puolipitkillä hihoilla varustetulla neuleella pärjää vähän viileämmässäkin, mutta se on silti sopivan kesäinen mikäli yhtäkkiä lämpenee. Koska rakastan värejä, piti asuun toki lisätä pari väriläiskääkin Stradivariuksen korallisten avokkaiden ja äitini tekemän oranssin sävyissä hehkuvan kaulakorun muodossa.

This has been my late spring and early summer go-to outfit on those days when the weather is a bit unpredictable. The half sleeved (or 3/4, I'm not quite sure...) sweater keeps me warm on slightly cooler days, but is still summery enough if the weather warms up unexpectedly. Because I love color, I naturally had to add a pop of color to the outfit in the form of coral pumps from Stradivarius and a necklace in orange hues made by my mother.
