Khaki, shades of brown, and The Hat

No niin, hyppäsin minäkin sitten mukaan hattutrendiin! Paitsi etteihän tämä minulle ihan uutta ole - rakastan hattuja, koska niiden alla koen olevani jotenkin piilossa, turvassa. Introvertille mieluinen olotila.

Uh-oh, who's jumped on the hat bandwagon now? Technically though hats are nothing new for me, in fact I've loved hats for a long time. I somehow feel very safe when I'm hiding underneath my hat, which as an introvert I thoroughly enjoy. In the winter time I've been sporting my nearly OTT handcrafted flower hat from Tallinn and for the past two summers this straw hat has been fixated to my head. But a hat that would be suitable for autumn(/spring?) has been missing in my collection.

As the wide-brimmed felt hats started creeping into the fashion landscape last autumn, I also became curious to try one. They're so gorgeously feminine! But in a sudden surge of practicality, I already saw myself poking innocent strangers sitting next to me on a bus with the brim. And can you even see anything from underneath? But on my last H&M order for the cashmere sweater, I also included a couple of hats with a more moderate brim. The grey one went straight back as the brim was too stiff and straight, but this back ordered camel beauty that finally arrived last week has the most gorgeous soft and bendy brim. I love it so much that I keep dreaming of adding a black or grey one to my collection. Would I finally dare to try one with a proper wide brim? We'll see, but I can so picture this hat being fixated on my head for every brown shaded outfit in the autumn, I love it! And not least for it's bad hair day cover up abilities!
